The 100 years of the butcher's shop
The butcher's has experienced only two butchers:
Achille Auphelle and Roger Mercié
During the days of "les Journées du Patrimoine" on September the 15th and 16th, 2012, we were getting on one surprise after another.
I had the great pleasure to welcome, Michelle Faure-Garrigou to the philosophical butcher's.
She is the small daughter of the former owners, the Auphelle family, who lived in this place during the last war.
Mr. and Mrs. Achille AUPHELLE, her grandparents, had bought the substance of trade in 1912.
Michelle had entrusted me with valuable documents to keep the memory of the place: the photo of her grandparents, some letterhead dating from 1929 and a label for the shipment of cattle to Paris, because her grandfather and my father were on the expedition to Paris.
Here is the photo of the Auphelle family who ran the butcher's from 1912 to 1946; that 's to say for 34 years.
Then, my parents bought the business in 1946 and closed it in 1980.
My father,Roger Mercié, has also ran the business for 34 years.!!
These documents have been delivered to me on the same day, on Saturnay September 15th, 2012.
So I have decided to put them in a framework in order to present the butcher's shop and the two owners it has go in a 100 years to the many visitors who would be interested in this place during the weed-end of "les Journées du Patrimoine"
We had such a good communication with Michelle about the past and our several memories. It was such a great pleasure for both of us!
I am surprised to see how these butchers had such an importance for their customers.
The were of foster care, real masters in the art of dressing meat.
34 Years of service for the Achille Auphelle family,
34 years of service for the family Roger Mercié
Before 1912, according to the acts of the notary the place was registered under the heading "Store".
One can imagine that it was a grocery store,.
That it was the reason why I made the exhibition a hundred years later of food boxes advertising.
Indeed, from the moment I have started this plan now, a red carpet has rolled out.
This butcher's shop called the philosophical butcher's was having its 100 years celebration without my knowing it!
It 's the l grand-daugther of the Auphelle family by reading the acts of property o that day who discovered the anniversary date of the butcher's.
She also enriched the place by providing me with some contemporary documents.
I put them in a framework for the next visitors!
At 7 PM , the framework was ready to be hung up to enrich the exposition
I Held it close to me whem I saw a warm-hearded-man coming in and saying :
I spent by chance. I am the great grandson of the Auphelle family.
Stunned, I watched at him and instinctively put the framework in his hands and told him :
"the credit is yours for hanging the framework of your gransparents, for the visits of tomorrows"
We have lived all together a great moment of intense sharing.
The gentleman on the picture below Patrick, Alain Faure, a neurosurgeon in the CHU of Limoges, keen on music (harmonium) and a talented artist who has made many recordings.
We have made this photo to immortalize this special moment
And to conclude , i send you short letter of Patrick Alain Faure dedicated to my husband, musician, who had his dinky toys showed in the room next door.
"Meeting of neurosurgery, the music of jazz and sacred music
Meetings with outstanding people
"What a pleasure and what a wonderful coincidence, to have met you this Saturday, September 15th, 2012.
In fact, it 's probably not a coincidence, it 's the destiny and especially GOOD LUCK
I have visited this beautiful butcher's shop and I have no doubt that it's going to be enriched with new photos ...
The work of restoration of this place by Regine Schirrer deserves better than a blog: a real site like yours dear Pierre Schirrer, who were here today to show your dinky toys.
"By the way, I loved your interpretations and your compositions while browsing your beautiful professional career.
I love the jazz so you suppose my delight!
The "Journées du Patrimoine of 2012" honoured the hundred-year-old- of the butcher's shop : 1912-2012
This heritage has made the happiness of our visitors
And at the same time the French Confederation of the butcherey has published in its monthly of July and August 2012, a very nice article( written by Jean-Pierre Gourvest for the butchery ) distributed to 22000 members.
Thank you to life!
